Maldición de los recursos naturales y crecimiento económico en el África Subsahariana. Breve ensayo sobre una larga polémica

Abstract

La maldición de los recursos naturales conforma el marco explicativo básico a partir del cual entender los problemas de crecimiento económico de muchos de los países del África Subsahariana. Teniendo en cuenta las conclusiones que este marco explicativo ofrece, es posible reflexionar sobre los determinantes microeconómicos fundamentales del mismo hasta esbozar uno basado en el carácter cíclico de los precios de los minerales en los mercados internacionales y las características propias del sector minero en el África Subsahariana. Este esquema teórico, de carácter hipotético, permite aportar una dimensión micro a una larga polémica, caracterizada por su enfoque macro, así como especular acerca del futuro del fenómeno en la región.
