La cuestión de las ondas largas

Abstract

El crecimiento económico mundial de la segunda postguerra generó la impresión de la desaparición de los ciclos económicos. Sólo la crisis de 1966-1967permitió redescubrir el trabajo primero de Kondrátiev y a revivir el estudio sobre los ciclos largos. En el artículo se hace un balance teórico sobre distintas posturas teóricas y sustentación empírica sobre las ondas largas y se propone como explicación los mecanismos de innovación y difusión. Además se plantea la necesidad de integrar las variables económicas básicas del proceso de acumulación de capital, como el papel de la ciencia y la tecnología y las estructuras científíco-tecnológicas como generadoras de una nueva fase del proceso de producción y sus implicaciones sobre un conjunto de relaciones y luchas muy importantes en la reestructuración institucional del mundo contemporáneo.
