Aproximación a las cajas de compensación familiar: sus servicios y su potencial como operadores sociales

Abstract

A mediados del siglo anterior se creó en Colombia el subsidio familiar como una prestación monetaria a favor de los trabajadores de más bajos salarios. Durante las seis décadas que han transcurrido desde entonces esta prestación ha evolucionado y adquirido nuevas formas para su otorgamiento y reconocimiento, que constituyen los denominados servicios sociales que prestan las cajas de compensación familiar. El presente documento hace un recorrido por los principales servicios ofrecidos y efectúa una aproximación a las características de la población beneficiaria y usuaria de dichos servicios.
