El sistema Fluvial Meta - Orinoco podría contribuir a equilibrar el intercambio comercial de Colombia con el Brasil

Abstract

Colombia es el único país suramericano que cuenta con dos extensos litorales marítimos (en el Caribe y en el Pacífico) dotados con excelentes puertos naturales por donde moviliza nuestro país a la mayor parte de su comercio internacional. Sin embargo, a través del sistema fluvial de la Orinoquia Colombia podría desarrollar una nueva vía más corta para facilitar nuestro comercio con los países del MERCOSUR (especialmente con el Brasil) país este último que se ha convertido en un importante socio comercial de nuestro país pero con la desventaja de registrar el mayor desequilibrio bilateral con Colombia entre todos los países del Mundo que comercian con nuestro país, registrando un déficit del orden de -US$833millones en 2004 y algo más de -US$1.000 millones en 2005.
