Dinamismo de las exportaciones de tomates mexicanos hacia los EEUU

Abstract

Las exportaciones de tomates frescos mexicanos hacia los Estados Unidos experimentaron una muy notable expansión durante los pasados 20 anos al registrar escasamente mil toneladas exportadas a ese mercado en 1985 (con un valor insignificante), para ascender en 1995 a US$336 millones y lograr luego en el ano 2006 un respetable guarismo de algo más de un millón de toneladas y un valor de algo más de Mil millones de dólares en los embarques de tomates frescos mejicanos destinados a los EEUU.En cambio, las exportaciones de flores frescas mexicanas hacia los EEUU registraron en el ano 2006 un guarismo semejante al exportado en el ano 1995 con modestas cifras del orden de US$33 millones y 32 millones de dólares respectivamente.
