El papel estratégico de los BRICS en la era del capitalismo cognitivo y financiero

    En este documento se analiza el surgimiento y papel que el conjunto de países agrupados en la sigla BRICS (Brasil, Rusia, India, China y Sudáfrica) puedan desempeñar en la economía mundial, dentro del marco de la crisis internacional por la que atraviesa el capitalismo. También se caracteriza la fase por la que atraviesa el sistema capitalista como una de financiarización y de un papel preponderante ganado por el conocimiento en el proceso de acumulación. A partir de estos elementos, se sostiene que los países BRICS, si bien coinciden en presentar altas tasas de crecimiento económico en años recientes, tienen características particulares que los hacen muy diferentes. De tal manera, su papel en la economía global es de naturaleza muy variada y así también será la magnitud de su influencia internacional. Finalmente se realizan algunas aproximaciones a las consecuencias que estos países puedan tener sobre la economía de los países latinoamericanos.
