Abstract

This study examines the situation of diversity and inclusion within the Department of Economic Sciences (FCE) at Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Based on a literature review on the impact of social struggles on economics and the importance of intersectionality, this document focuses on the Department’s student community to identify gaps and propose measures to foster inclusive spaces. It emphasizes the need to adapt inclusion policies to specific contexts, recognizing the influence of traditional gender roles. The objective is to enrich the theoretical and practical debate on inclusion in economics, generating a flexible analytical framework that allows for the formulation and adjustment of diversity and inclusion policies for the Department. The flexible design of this framework should allow the Department to take into account the changes of social dynamics in the formulation of future policies.
