Abstract

Este texto ofrece una reflexión sobre las prácticas filantrópicas en Colombia entre 1870 y 1960, centrándose en la descripción y caracterización de las formas que fueron dominantes en este campo, aunque registrando la variedad que el investigador puede distinguir, a través de la caracterización social de los donantes y de quienes reciben las donaciones, estudiando la magnitud de tales donaciones y las motivaciones que parecen animarlas e investigando las relaciones que se establecen entre los donantes y los beneficiarios.
