Observatorio MetroMun. El modo de vida popular y la regularización barrial en Bogotá

Abstract

La producción habitacional popular acostumbra encajarse bajo nociones como la clandestinidad e ilegalidad, la irregularidad y, más comúnmente, la informalidad urbana. La dualidad de nuestras ciudades en tanto esa última noción que se ha erigido como el par dialéctico de la formalidad, constituye de hecho la plataforma de crecimiento urbano sobre la que se han edificado el pluricentrismo económico y la segregación residencial como rasgos estructurales dominantes de las metrópolis latinoamericanas. Sin embargo, a ese tipo de producción habitacional no se le puede distinguir meramente por las contradicciones con el mercado formal, en razón a que el tipo de agentes que en ella participan, las reglas que facilitan su interacción y la frecuencia de la recurrencia de interacciones, tienen una naturaleza diferente.
