Las circunstancias de muerte y lesión de policías en Colombia. Una revisión de los datos del periodo enero-octubre de 2004

Abstract

El objetivo de esta investigación es identificar estadísticamente algunas causas de muerte y lesión de policías en Colombia. Los datos corresponden al conjunto de policías muertos y lesionados entre enero y octubre de 2004. Se encontró que una de las variables más importantes al momento de explicar las lesiones y muertes es la edad de los policías. Otra variable con gran poder explicativo es el número de anos de servicio. Otro hallazgo importante es la influencia de los accidentes de tránsito en la explicación de lesiones y muertes. A modo de conclusión se presenta como hipótesis de trabajo una explicación sobre los problemas de regulación emocional y el nivel de conocimiento técnico en el ejercicio de ciertas funciones policiales.
