Impacto económico de las alternativas de expansión del sistema aeroportuario de Bogotá : Policy note

Abstract

Este estudio evalúa, con las proyecciones de tráfico aéreo disponibles en enero de 2020, las alternativas de expansión del sistema aéreo de Bogotá en enero, y concluye que la decisión alineada con el interés público consiste en ampliar primero El Dorado (EDI), que incluye la construcción de la tercera pista y del tercer terminal, y luego construir El Dorado II (EDII). Entre 2025 y 2051, con la ausencia de inversión y operación integradas, se perderían de manera acumulativa 220.71 millones de pasajeros y 1.91 millones de operaciones en el sistema aeroportuario de Bogotá. Las pérdidas macroeconómicas por no expandir y operar de manera integrada el sistema aeronáutico de Bogotá son elevadas. Usando una tasa de descuento de 7.76%, el acervo de PIB perdido en Bogotá entre 2025 y 2051 alcanzaría el valor de USD 4,243 millones. En el mismo horizonte de evaluación, el acervo de empleo y de impuestos perdidos ascendería a USD 504 y USD 251 millones, respectivamente.
