Abstract

Resumen:En este trabajo se hace una investigación empírica sobre los cambios en la posición de mercado de las empresas colombianas, según la Matriz Crecimiento- Participación desarrollada por la firma Boston Consulting Group. Para ello se utilizan datos de la Superintendencia de Sociedades de Colombia y se aplican modelos Logit Multinomiales. Los resultados indican que en términos generales, variables financieras afectan de manera similar a todas las empresas, mientras que variables de organización industrial tienen efectos distintos dependiendo del tipo de empresa. Las conclusiones del trabajo sugieren que hay amplio campo de acción para los responsables de política con el fin de estimular el éxito empresarial.Abstract:This work seeks to establish the factors that impact on the changes of state between types of companies, following the Boston Consulting Group´s Growth- Share Matrix. Estimations have been performed using a Multinomial Logit Model using data from Superintendencia de Sociedades de Colombia. Results indicate that financial variables affect in similar ways all categories of companies, while industrial organization variables have different effects that depend on the categories. The outcomes suggest that there is a wide spectrum that can be used to formulate economic policies.
