Abstract

CONTENTS: En este Documento de Trabajo se analizan las principales características de los fondos de inversión cotizados, más conocidos por su denominación en inglés, exchange-traded funds (ETF). Estos fondos han experimentado un significativo crecimiento en los últimos años y presentan indudables ventajas para los inversores, que no obstante deben contrastarse con los potenciales riesgos asociados a las diferentes estructuras de cada fondo cotizado, tal y como han destacado recientemente varios organismos internacionales. También se señala una serie de recomendaciones de gestión y control de riesgos aplicables a las actividades de préstamo de valores e inversión en instrumentos derivados realizadas por los fondos cotizados.
