Abstract

Report on the 41st Colloque Jean-Yves Rivard This report summarizes the discussions held during the 41st edition of the Jean-Yves-Rivard Symposium, which took place on May 9, 2024, and focused on the workforce crisis in Quebec's healthcare system. Through four keynote presentations and two panel discussions bringing together researchers, healthcare professionals, decision-makers, union representatives and patients, it highlights the structural, organizational, cultural, and individual factors contributing to this crisis. The document offers a multi-level analysis of the causes and identifies integrated courses of action, ranging from professional recognition to governance modernization and human resources optimization. It aims to inform current debates and to support the systemic transformations necessary to provide a sustainable response to the healthcare workforce crisis. Compte-rendu du colloque 41e Colloque Jean-Yves Rivard Ce compte-rendu présente une synthèse des échanges issus de la 41ᵉ édition du colloque Jean-Yves-Rivard, tenu le 9 mai 2024 et consacré à la crise de la main-d’œuvre dans le système de santé québécois. À travers quatre conférences et deux tables rondes réunissant chercheur·e·s, professionnel·le·s de la santé, gestionnaires, décideurs, personnes représentantes des syndicats et patient·e·s, il met en lumière les facteurs structurels, organisationnels, culturels et individuels qui alimentent cette crise. Le document propose une analyse multiniveaux des causes et identifie des pistes d’action intégrées, allant de la reconnaissance professionnelle à la modernisation de la gouvernance et de la gestion des ressources humaines. Il vise à éclairer les débats actuels et à soutenir les transformations systémiques indispensables pour apporter une réponse durable à la crise de la main-d’œuvre en santé.
