Favoriser l’acquisition en capital humain durant la pandémie : un investissement rentable pour l’emploi et la croissance économique

Abstract

L’éducation est l’un des investissements les plus profitables pour une société, tant au niveau individuel que collectif. Les compétences en numératie sont fortement corrélées avec le salaire des individus et contribuent à accéder à des emplois hautement rémunérés. Ainsi, pour favoriser la relance et notre prospérité à long terme, il faut : Miser sur la requalification de la main d’œuvre pour augmenter les compétences des travailleurs actuels; Mettre en place des incitatifs pour maintenir/augmenter la participation des jeunes à l’université dans les domaines à haut rendement; Mettre en place des stratégies pour éviter le décrochage scolaire chez les jeunes; Soutenir l’école primaire et secondaire pour assurer un rattrapage et minimiser l’impact sur les inégalités; Investir en petite enfance pour la croissance de long terme.
