COVID-19 et le commerce international du Canada : la situation est déjà pire que ce qui est indiqué dans le rapport de juillet sur la situation du commerce canadien en 2020

Abstract

Dans son rapport Le point sur le commerce canadien en 2020 publié le 22 juillet 2020, Affaires mondiales Canada indique que « Pour le premier trimestre de 2020, l’ensemble des répercussions de la COVID-19 sur le commerce canadien ont été limitées, à deux exceptions près : les exportations vers la Chine et la Corée du Sud ont reculé de 14 % et de 26 %, respectivement ». C'est vrai, mais malheureusement déjà dépassé. Les chiffres les plus récents basés sur les données douanières concernant le commerce international de marchandises du Canada avec ses principaux partenaires sont maintenant disponibles pour avril et mai 2020, et la situation commerciale est alarmante, en particulier avec notre principal partenaire, les États-Unis.
