Tobacco Attitudes and Media Survey 2002 [in Delaware]

Abstract

The Tobacco Attitudes and Media Survey was conducted to assess the degree to which the current media program was reaching adult Delawareans. While awareness doesn’t necessarily translate into action, it is a necessary first step. The program is primarily focused on promoting awareness of the dangers of second-hand smoke and the availability of the Delaware Quitline. The survey was used to assess the visibility of the media campaign and to learn how people obtain information about health issues and services. Finally, the reaction of respondents to tobacco advertisements was addressed.
