La position européenne dans le commerce extérieur de la Chine

Abstract

La position des exportateurs européens dans le marché chinois est souvent considérée comme étant faible. Le calcul de parts de marché ainsi que d'intensités du commerce bilatéral semblent confirmer cette perception, mais ces statistiques manquent d'une explication economique. Nous tentons de donner une telle explication en développant un modèle de gravité qui capte les déterminants du commerce bilatéral de la Chine. Les valeurs estimées servent de standard pour évaluer les positions des différents pays dans le marché chinoîs. Une fois la distance et d'autres facteurs économiques pris , en compte, l'Europe n'apparaît plus sous-représentée en Chine. Toutefois, cette "normalité" des échanges sino-européens est purement empirique et ne peut pas être interprétée de façon normative.
