Benessere e integrazione fra Paesi con differente tassazione del risparmio in un modello a generazioni sovrapposte

Abstract

In un modello a generazioni sovrapposte con tassazione 'anticipata' sul risparmio si analizzano gli effetti dell'integrazione sul benessere, concludendo che le generazioni viventi al momento dell'integrazione 'guadagneranno' dalla medesima se il proprio paese ha un'aliquota minore di quella esistente all'estero, ma nel lungo periodo tutte le generazioni future 'perderanno' dall'avvenuta integrazione. Si sviluppa inoltre un giuoco statico di steady-state fra i due governi relativo alla fissazione dell'imposta, con una simulazione numerica sulla base di plausibili valori dei parametri, rivelando che tale gioco presenta la struttura tipica del 'dilemma del prigioniero'.
