The labour share in value added: a complex assessment

Abstract

Changes in the value added sharing are the focus of considerable debate. In France, the assessment depends largely on the scope of analysis chosen and the degree to which it is aggregated, and it differs depending on the sector: since the crisis, the labour share has increased in market services but has declined in industry. Les évolutions du partage de la valeur ajoutée font l’objet de nombreux débats. En France, le diagnostic dépend largement du champ plus ou moins agrégé sur lequel porte l’analyse et il diffère selon les branches, avec depuis la crise une poursuite de la hausse de la part du travail dans les services marchands et un repli à la baisse dans l’industrie.
