Can we boost growth in France?
[Peut-on dynamiser la croissance en France ?]

Abstract

In 2017, French growth is expected to accelerate to around 1.6%. In addition to support from monetary policy, ambitious structural reforms are necessary to raise the current potential growth rate, which is only just below 1.25%. These reforms need to focus on education, vocational training, and labour and competition law. En 2017, l’activité française devrait accélérer aux environs de 1,6%. Au-delà du soutien de la politique monétaire, des réformes structurelles ambitieuses sont nécessaires pour relever son rythme potentiel actuel qui dépasse difficilement 1 point 1/4. Ces réformes concernent notamment l’éducation, la formation professionnelle, le droit du travail et la concurrence.
