Abstract

Ce poste est conjointement publié dans Bloc-notes Éco (version française) et Bank Underground (version anglaise). Dans quelle mesure peut-on estimer que le solde courant dépend de la démographie ? Notre modèle explique 20 % de la variation des positions extérieures nettes (PEN) observées dans les économies avancées par des différences dans la structure par âge de la population. Les PEN devraient encore augmenter avec la poursuite du vieillissement à des rythmes différents selon les pays.
