Nigeria : première économie du continent aux ambitions contraintes

Abstract

Avec plus de 180 millions d’habitants, le Nigeria, pays le plus peuplé d’Afrique, est également la première économie du continent. Grand comme deux fois la France métropolitaine, il est aussi vaste que sa population est diverse : composée de plus de 250 ethnies, elle est répartie entre une moitié nord à majorité musulmane et une moitié sud à majorité chrétienne. A cette forte hétérogénéité ethnique, aux rapports de forces déséquilibrés, s’ajoutent de larges richesses énergétiques inégalement allouées et concentrées au sud-est du territoire.
