Inclusión financiera y movilidad social de las mujeres en México

Abstract

Este estudio analiza la relación entre la inclusión financiera y la movilidad social en México, con énfasis en las diferencias de género. A partir de los datos de la Encuesta ESRU de Movilidad Social en México 2023 (ESRU-EMOVI 2023), se identifican barreras estructurales, normas sociales de género y factores intergeneracionales que limitan la inclusión financiera de las mujeres. Los hallazgos revelan que la inclusión financiera está asociada con una mayor movilidad social, aunque su efecto es más limitado para las mujeres debido a restricciones laborales, educativas y culturales. También se observa que la escolaridad de las madres y la transmisión de conocimientos financieros impactan de manera diferenciada en la inclusión financiera de hijas e hijos. Con el objetivo de impulsar la movilidad social de las mujeres a partir de su inclusión financiera, este estudio destaca la necesidad de tener políticas públicas con un enfoque de género para abordar tanto las barreras estructurales como los estereotipos sociales.
