El efecto de la inclusión financiera de las mujeres en la movilidad social de las y los hijos

Abstract

Varios artículos recientes han estudiado el efecto de la posición de la madre en la movilidad social de los hijos; sin embargo, pocos trabajos han examinado empíricamente los mecanismos que sustentan la desigualdad de género de los padres y el logro educativo de los hijos. Este documento sugiere que la inclusión financiera de la madre también es una dimensión importante del proceso de movilidad porque un sistema financiero que da acceso a las mujeres para ahorrar, tener créditos y cubrirse contra diversos riesgos les permite invertir en el capital humano de sus hijos. Este documento utiliza datos de la Encuesta ESRU de Movilidad Social en México 2017 (ESRU-EMOVI 2017) para analizar el efecto de la inclusión financiera de las mujeres en la movilidad educativa de los hijos.
