«El impacto del origen socioeconómico sobre diversas características laborales en México, 2011»

Abstract

Esta investigación estudia el impacto de las condiciones socioeconómicas de origen (CSO) sobre diversas características del primer empleo, el empleo actual y de la movilidad en carrera laboral de los individuos. El estudio se realizó con datos de la ESRU-EMOVI 2011. El estudio encuentra evidencia de que las CSO son importantes para determinar las características del primer empleo, del empleo actual y la probabilidad de ascenso laboral. Además, se evidencia que los impactos son diferentes entre hombres y mujeres. En el caso de los hombres, los impactos de las CSO se deben a factores que no son fijos en el tiempo y que obedecen a la existencia de restricciones crediticias y funcionamiento de redes sociales para asignar empleos. En el caso de las mujeres, el mercado laboral es más restrictivo y hay discriminación que comienza desde los hogares y los patrones de herencia de riqueza en los mismos.
