Abstract

En este ensayo se resumen las principales ideas de los panelistas que participaron en el seminario “Meta de inflación, teoría y evidencia empírica”. Este seminario fue organizado por el Banco Central de Costa Rica con el fin de generar espacios donde se discuta la pertinencia actual del régimen de metas de inflación y se posibilite el aprendizaje de las experiencias de múltiples países en la adopción de dicho régimen. Los presentadores hicieron énfasis en que el régimen de metas de inflación ha sido exitoso, pero de manera continua la política monetaria se enfrenta a nuevos desafíos que debe solventar.
