Abstract

This paper focuses on state and local governments and the policy choices affecting the state's long-term economic outlook. It addresses the preparation, organization and use of decision information in the management of state and local governments as these governments are affected by, and, in turn, affect the economy of the state. Its particular focus is on data, but timely and accurate information on the state of the state's economy and its prospects for growth and development in a rapidly changing national and world economy.
