Abstract

This bulletin reports estimates of producer and consumer subsidy equivalents for 48 different agricultural commodities and products in 30 countries and the European Community. These estimates are measures of explicit and implicit subsidies or taxes on producers or consumers caused by government food and agricultural policies. They were calculated by analysts in the Economic Research Service and constitute a quantitative policy database that facilitates cross-country and intertemporal comparisons of policy transfers.
