Abstract

This report presents final State and National estimates of total number of farms and land in farms for 1988-1992. In addition, it contains estimates of farms and land in farms by economic sales class. Some of these estimates have been revised since last published in Agricultural Statistics Board releases. The basis for these revisions are the Department of Commerce 1992 Census of Agriculture and any other new information available which might affect the level of the estimates. Estimates contained in this report provide a historical record and a benchmark for current estimates. The data series covering the 1993-95 period appears in the July FARMS AND LAND IN FARMS report released July 28 at 3:00 p.m. EDT. These data are a continuation of a series which began in 1910.
