Abstract

In 1973, there were 169,000 farm wageworkers eligible for a national farmworker program under Title III, Section 303 (a) of the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA) (Public Law 92-203, 87 Stat. 839). These workers, representing 6 percent of the total 2.7 million farm wageworkers, resided in 122,000 households (1.4 farmworkers per household). Farmworkers had 191,000 persons under 18 years of age in their households (1.6 per household) also eligible for the program. This report indicates the number and distribution of eligible farmworkers and their dependents by migratory status, ethnic group, earnings, and region.
