Infra-estrutura brasileira: identificação de setores chaves para o crescimento da economia

Abstract

A partir da década de 1980, os investimentos em infra-estrutura foram reduzidos no Brasil, levando à redução na qualidade desses serviços e elevando custos para o setor produtivo. O objetivo deste artigo é identificar os setores de infra-estrutura, especificamente transporte, energia elétrica e comunicações, como setores chaves para o crescimento da economia. Para isso foram calculados os índices de Rasmussen-Hirschman e índices de dispersão para frente e para trás, a partir dos dados da matriz de insumo-produto de 1996. Os setores de transporte e energia elétrica são setores chaves pois apresentam índice de ligação para frente maior que um. O setor de comunicações não recebe essa classificação. Comparando os índices de 1985 com os resultados obtidos para o ano de 1996 percebe-se que o setor de transporte, que teve reduções de investimento, apresenta redução no índice de ligação para frente e o setor de comunicações, que teve crescimento nos investimentos, apresenta elevação desse índice.
