Abstract
-------------------------------------------Preliminary results of the agricultural census showed that the sheep in Brazil is lower than previous studies indicated. This article aims to mensurate goat herd concentration in Brazil, in the years of 1995/96 and 2006. Tabular analysis, estimation of Theil T index were used as the basic analytical techniques for the study. The results showed reduction of the concentration of the goat herd among units of the Federation. Analyzing by Theil index, this concentration was not strongly characterized. They differ because the Theil index consider the relationship between the sheep distribution and the area of the units of the Federation.
