Empresário: Uma Escolha Ocupacional Dos Estudantes De Uma Universidade De Ciências Agrárias?

Abstract

Entender qual o tipo de mão-de-obra que o ensino superior estimula a formação de gosto e crença de atuação profissional é um aspecto de suma relevância. A busca por redução de custos e de risco acarreta o aumento da demanda por empresários, assim este estudo visa identificar e analisar a opção ocupacional de estudantes do ensino superior com foco na escolha por desempenhar atividades empresariais. Foi realizado um estudo de caso em duas escolas. Uma das universidades analisadas é a Escola Superior de Agricultura “Luiz de Queiroz” – ESALQ, uma tradicional escola do ensino de Ciências Agrárias do Brasil, e a outra escola não foi identificada no estudo e constitui um grupo controle. Aplicou-se 614 questionários a estudantes ingressantes e formandos, sendo as diferenças entre as freqüências das respostas consideradas como o efeito da educação na formação de gosto e da intenção por um perfil ocupacional. Como resultado encontrou-se que as escolas estimulam a formação de gosto e intenção de ser empresários. Entretanto, na ESALQ há uma parcela dos alunos que não acreditam que tem chances de ser empresários, enquanto na outra instituição a formação de intenção é maior que a formação do gosto por atividades empresariais.-----------------------------------------------To understand which kind of labor the Brazilian higher education system is producing is an aspect of great relevance to Economics. The desire of becoming an entrepreneur and the intention of effectively becoming one are important components of this educational process. Reduction of production costs and associated risks increase the demand for entrepreneurs. This work seeks to identify and to analyze undergraduate students occupational choice with focus in the option for carrying out business activities. A case study was accomplished at two schools. One of the analyzed institutions is the "Luiz of Queiroz" College of Agriculture. –ESALQ - a traditional school of Agrarian Sciences of Brazil, and the other constitutes a control group that was not identified in the study. 614 questionnaires were applied to freshman and to seniors of both institutions. Differences between the answers´ frequency was supposed to be caused by the educational process in taste formation and intention when determining students occupational choice. Results show that the higher education institutions stimulate the taste formation and intention of becoming entrepreneurs. However, in one of the schools there is a fraction of the students that are not sure about their chances of effectively becoming entrepreneurs, while in the other institution the intention formation is larger than the taste formation for business activities.
