O “Tratoraço”, E A Vulnerabilidade Do Monocultivo De Grãos Na Agricultura Brasileira

Abstract

Em junho de 2005 houve em todo o Brasil uma intensa mobilização de produtores rurais a qual culminou com manifestações em praças e estradas nas quais os tratores se faziam presentes ruidosamente, bloqueando o acesso e impedindo o trânsito. Foi intensa a cobertura da imprensa a estas manifestações que levaram a concessões governamentais e mudanças nos instrumentos de política agrícola com vistas a reduzir custos, facilitar acesso a mercados e, consequentemente restaurar a competitividade das atividades que se encontravam ameaçada. Os movimentos sociais, sobretudo o MST, Movimentos dos Sem Terra, criticaram as concessões feitas pelo governo que, segundo os mesmos, tratava de modo diferenciado os componentes do “agronegócio”. O que tinham em comum estes agricultores? Em que regiões do país se inseriam? Todos os produtores rurais brasileiros se sentiam representados nestas mobilizações e as apoiavam? È o que se tenderá analisar neste trabalho que associará a participação no “Tratoraço” a uma vulnerabilidade decorrente da monocultura, que nem sempre é a opção de produtores rurais.
