Sistema De Demanda De Carnes No Brasil: Modelo De Equação Aparentemente Náo-Relacionada

Abstract

O objetivo do trabalho foi analisar o comportamento das relações cruzadas do sistema de demanda de carnes no Brasil, no período de 1980 a 2006, o foco da análise foi a investigação das relações de substitutibilidade e complementaridade do sistema de demanda neste período. Foi utilizado como instrumental analítico um modelo econométrico de equações de regressão aparentemente não-relacionadas. Os resultados mostraram que as demandas são inelásticas a preço e que o pescado é complementar das carnes de frango e bovina e substituta da carne suína. A carne de frango se mostrou substituta do pescado e indiferente às carnes bovina e suína. Essas relações mudaram devido à expansão do consumo de alimentos processados e da alimentação fora de casa, realizada nos restaurantes a quilo e nas redes de alimentação rápida.
