Abstract

The main objective of this study is to examine the relation between bovine meat prices in Mercosur countries and United States. The econometric model permits to identify the causality using a vector autoregressive model (VAR). In addition we analyze the impulse response function to investigate the short-time effects in bovine meat prices. Finally it is possible to confirm an existence of causality in the price definition for Mercosur countries. Also it evaluates the intensity and direction of prices shocks in each market.
