Impact des tracasseries routières sur les populations vulnérables au Mali

Abstract

Constats -Les tracasseries routières constituent des entraves qui grèvent artificiellement les marges de commercialisation et les prix à la consommation alimentaire en milieu urbain. -La présente recherche évalue l’impact des entraves à la commercialisation sur les prix alimentaires ainsi que sur la consommation de populations vulnérables à travers un modèle multi-marché. -Les résultats suggèrent que les tracasseries routières gonflent les marges commerciales d’environ 25%. -A court terme, une réduction des marges commerciales d’un tel montant entrainerait une réduction des prix alimentaires urbains de 5- 10% ainsi qu’une hausse d’environ 6-9% des prix alimentaires ruraux, ce qui bénéficie aux consommateurs pauvres urbains ainsi qu’aux producteurs ruraux excédentaires (Figure 1). -A moyen terme, une hausse des prix ruraux incitera une hausse de la production alimentaire de la campagne agricole suivante, ce qui aboutera à une amélioration de la sécurité alimentaire nationale ainsi qu’une augmentation des gains calorifiques des pauvres ruraux et urbains.
