Abstract

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Summary: In this report results from the calculation and analysis of nutrient balances for the years 2007 and 2010 on community level are presented for Schleswig-Holstein and the data basis, methodology and uncertainties are discussed. It shows that nutrient surpluses are slightly rising from 2007 to 2010. This can be mainly explained by the increasing amount of manure and organic fertilizer from livestock production and slurry from biogas plants. It gets clear that withdrawal of nutrients by plants, the amount of mineral fertilizer applied and the amount of manure and biogas slurry are the major influences on the nutrient balance. On average this leads to an increase of nitrogen surplus from agriculture from 2007 to 2010 of around four kilogram per hectare agriculturally utilized area.
