Abstract

Coherence of developmental processes of the Polish farming and the food industry were assessed. This analysis covered dynamics of the evolution of production and demand, the value added of both incomes of the agricultural entrepreneur and the food processing industry worker and the agricultural prices, the food processing industry worker and the consumer. It was stated that there is a lack of coherence in the developmental processes of these two main elements of the food economy and lack of correlation between them. On the domestic (and local) scale the interlinks are weakening and their course does not confirm the often formulated thesis about the transfer of profits from farming to processing. This requires introducing phenomena of a global character into the research of developmental processes and the verification of many theses proposed earlier by agri-economic sciences.
