Selbstversorgung – Zwischen Lifestyle Und Ernährungssicherung?

Abstract

Der Anbau von Lebensmitteln im heimischen Garten, auf Pachtflächen, in Schrebergärten oder Communal Gardens erfreut sich ungeahnter Beliebtheit. Neuere empirische Arbeiten weisen darauf hin, dass Obst- und Gemüseanbau, Kleintierhaltung und Hausschlachtungen jenseits der großstädtischen Lifestyle-Mode für viele Menschen im ländlichen Raum wieder an Bedeutung gewinnen. Das Forschungsprojekt "Selbstversorgung - ein Beitrag zur Ernährungssicherung" an der Hochschule Niederrhein untersucht, ob Selbstversorgung in Zeiten verschärften demographischen Wandels und ökonomischer Krisen, die Versorgungslage, vor allem ländlicher Haushalte, stabilisieren kann.
