MANEJO DE Thrips tabaci L. y Liriomyza sp. EN LA VARIEDAD COMERCIAL DE CEBOLLA MERCEDES UTILIZANDO DIFERENTES INSECTICIDAS

Abstract

Se Ilevaron a cabo dos estudios de campo en el afio 1995 y 1996 sobre como manejar a Thrips tabaci y Liriomyza sp. en la variedad de cebolla "Mercedes" utilizando diferentes insecticidas. Se seleccionaron los siguientes insecticidas: Cypermethrin, Avermectin, Oxamyl, Azadirachtin y Dimethyl. Los otros tratamientos fueron con agua solamente y el control. Con los resultados obtenidos en ambos anos se observe que el insecticida cypermethrin obtuvo el menor nurnero de ninfas y adultos de T. tabaci y el mejor rendimiento comparado con los demas tratamientos. Con respecto al numero de larvas vivas de Liriomyza se observe una disrninucion de la misrna cuando se aplicaba avermectin. Estos resultados indican que se podria manejar a T. tabaci con aplicaciones de cypermecthrin comenzando a la septirna semana despues de una siernbra directa y luego se podria intercalar con aplicaciones de oxamyl 0 dimethyl para no crear resistencia en el tripido. Sin embargo, el manejo de Liriomyza requiere otros tipos de practices que deben ser evaluadas porque sus poblaciones no se pueden manejar favorablemente con avermectin, a pesar de que se logra una disrninucion de la poblacion,
