PREFERENCIA VARIETAL DE Pseudocyst a persea (H.) EN VARIEDADES COMERCIALES DE AGUACATE (Persea americana (M) )

Abstract

Se llevô a cabo un estudio de campo sobre la chinche de ala de encaje Pseudacysta persea (H.) para determinar su preferencia a diferentes variedades comerciales de aguacate Pseudacysta persea (M.) Se seleccionaron las siguientes variedades: Avila , Semil 34, Wilson Popenoe, Pollock, Candelaria, Semil 43 y Butler como las variedades comerciales mâs sembradas en el ârea sur de Puerto Rico. Con los resultados obtenidos se observô que la variedad Avila obtuvo el mayor numéro de huevos, ninfas, hembras y machos de P. persea por hojas comparadas con las demâs variedades. Con respecto al numéro de hojas infestadas por ârbol, se encontrô valores significativos (p<01) en la variedad Avila resultando tener casi un 90% de las hojas danadas. Estos resultados nos indican que P. persea tiene una alta preferencia por la variedad Avila comparada con las demâs variedades. Sin embargo, no se observô ninguna variedad que fuera de baja ό ninguna preferencia a P. persea.
