Crecimiento Y Desarrollo De Arboles Jovenes De C1tr1cas Utilizando Fertilizantes De Liberacion Controlada

Abstract

Se estableciô un experimento en un suelo Ultisol (Typic Haplohumult) en el Municipio de Utuado con el propôsito de evaluar el efecto de dos fertilizantes de liberation controlada en el crecimiento y desarrollo de ârboles de citricas. Se evaluaron très tratamientos:(l)fertilizante de liberation controlada 22-4-6, (2) fertilizante de liberation controlada 20-10-5, (3) fertilizante granular 10-10-8 (control). Se midiô el diâmetro del tallo y la altura del àrbol al inicio y al final del experimento; el volumen de copa, a los 14 meses despues la siembra. En esta etapa también se tomaron muestras de suelo y tejido foliar para determinar los niveles de Ν, Ρ, Κ, Ca y Mg. Todos los tratamientos resultaron en concentraciones déficientes de nitrôgeno en el tejido foliar (menor de 2.5%), lo que sugiere que los niveles de nitrôgeno recomendados actual mente para el abonamiento de citricas deben ser revisados. No se observaron diferencias significativas entre tratamientos en el contenido de nutrimentos del suelo ni en el pH. Tampoco se observaron diferencias significativas en la altura, volumen de copa ni en el diâmetro del tallo de los ârboles de citricas. Estos resultados sugieren que de una a dos aplicaciones de un fertilizante de liberation controlada tiene el mismo efecto sobre el crecimiento y desarrollo de ârboles de citricas que cuatro a seis dosis de otros fertilizantes comiinmente utilizados.
