Influence de ! 'hôte sur le développement parasitaire. Exemple des nématodes du bananier

Abstract

L'incidence des pratiques culturales employées en culture bananière sur le développement des populations de nématodes a fait l'objet de nombreuses études menées en Côte d'Ivoire. Parmi ces pratiques , trois d'entre elles peuvent avoir des conséquences directes sur le parasitisme. La première concerne le système de culture (période d'abandon des parcelles) et les deux autres concernent la plante (état sanitaire du matériel de plantation et recépage des rejets surnuméraires). Après une période d'abandon de deux ans, une jachère à Asystasia gangetica ou Chromolaena odorata éradique l'espèce Radopholus similis mais maintient les espèces Helicotylenchus multicinctus et Hoplolaimus pararobustus. Seul l'emploi de vitro-plants indemnes de nématodes maintient cet équilibre, alors que l'emploi de souches ou de rejets (matériel infesté) rétablit la population de R. similis. Le recépage des rejets surnuméraires perturbe aussi l'équilibre initial des peuplements puisque R. similis est sensible au stress physiologique causé par la défoliation. Mais son développement est stimulé sur les rejets maintenus comme fructifères. Le développement d'H. multicinctus étant soumis à une compétition interspécifique avec R. similis. il est alors accru sur les rejets recépés.
