Epoca y Severidad de la Poda Radicular en el Crecimiento y Relación Agua/Planta del Melocotón "Bellaire" (Prunus persica L. batsch)

Abstract

Poda radicular fue realizada a árboles de melocotón "Bellaire" /Lovell (Prunus persica L. Batsch) sin frutificación, de 4 años de edad a 0.40 ó 0.80 m distante del tronco y ambos lados paralelo a las hileras. Los tratamientos fueron aplicados el 25 de: abril, 25 de mayo y 23 de junio respectivamente a una profundidad de 0.35 m en 1990. La conducción estomática, crecimiento de las ramas, floración y frutificación (1991) fueron evaluadas durante la ejecución del experimento. Reducción en la actividad estomática, crecimiento de las ramas y tamaño del fruto fue observado en los árboles tratados. La floración, número de frutos y eficiencia de la producción resultaron mayores en los árboles podados radiculannente comparado con los controles.
