Habilidad Combinatoria de 8 Líneas Elites Dominicanas de Maíz (Zea mays L.)

Abstract

Una evaluación de 28 cruzas dialéticas provenientes de 8 líneas élites dominicanas de maíz fue ejecutada en 1990. Objetivos específicos de este estudio fueron determinar las líneas con mejor habilidad combinatoria general (HCG) y específica (HCE) y predecir las mejores cruzas triples y dobles. Diferencias significativas fueron obtenidas entre las 28 cruzas para todas las variables evaluadas. La herencia para rendimiento fue determinada por un análisis de dialelos. Los cuadrados medios para la habilidad combinatoria general (HCG) y específica (HCE) fueron significativamente diferentes en rendimiento, siendo los efectos aditivos más importantes que los no aditivos. Los parentales T66 y NO3 resultaron con mejor HCG y los cruces NO3xT55 (9.02 ton/ha), NO2xNO3 (8.57 ton/ha) y DK12xT66 (8.36 ton/ha), los que presentaron mejor HCE. Estos resultados concuerdan parcialmente con un e¡;tudio previo. Las cruzas triples (NO2xT66)X NO3 y doble (NO2XT66) (NO3xDK14) con 8.80 y 8.30 ton/ha fueron las mejores predicciones.
