Efecto De Marcos De Plantacion Sobre El Rendimiento De Yuca (Manihot Esculenta Crantz) En Esperanza, Valverde, Republica Dominicana

Abstract

Los rendimientos potenciales de raices frescas de yuca pueden superar las 70 t/ha (CIAT 1979), en el pais se obtienen 8 t/ha (SEA 2003). Esta diferencia se debe a la siembra de variedades inadecuadas y el uso de prâcticas agronômicas déficientes. Una prâctica que contribuye al aprovechamiento del terreno y a eficientizar la aplicaciôn de tecnologias, es usar marcos de siembra adecuados. Esta investigaciôn tuvo por objetivo determinar el mejor marco para las variedades evaluadas y su efecto sobre el rendimiento de raices frescas comerciales. Se realizô en Esperanza, Provincia Valverde en el periodo octubre 2001-julio 2002. Se utilizô un diseno de parcelas divididas con el factor "variedad" en parcela principal y el factor "marco de plantaciôn" en subparcelas. Se utilizô cinco variedades y cuatro distancias de siembra. Cada tratamiento se replicô cuatro veces. Los rendimientos de raices fueron diferentes estadisticamente (p=0.05) para ambos factores. No hubo diferencias para la interacciôn distancias por variedades. Un anâlisis de regresiôn entre las distancias mostrô que a mayor distancia los rendimientos disminuyen. Los rendimientos mejores se obtuvieron al sembrar a 1.0m entre hileras por 0.40m entre plantas con 29.65 t/ha, y los mâs bajos a lxlm con 23.9 t/ha. La variedad "Americanita" produjo mayor cantidad de raices (34.22 t/ha), la variedad "Taverita" presentô los rendimientos mâs bajos 21.5 t/ha, seguida de "Bilin" 23.6 t/ha y "Negrita" 24.1 t/ha.
