Manejo Del Material De Propagaciôn Y Rendimiento De Yautîa (Xanthosoma Spp.) En La Zona Central De Puerto Rico

Abstract

Se realize» investigation para evaluar el efecto del manejo del material de propagation en el rendimiento del hibrido de yautia Estela (Xanthosoma sagittifolium χ Xanthosoma antrovirens). Se évalue» la prebrotaciôn (si/no) y el tratamiento con fungicida del material de propagation (si/no), utilizando un diseno de bloques complétas al azar con cuatro repeticiones. Hubo interacciones significativas entre factores para nûmero y peso de cormelos mercadeables por hectârea. Solo el material de propagation que no fue prebrotado mostrô diferencias significativas entre tratados y no tratados con fungicida. El mayor rendimiento, 9,802 kg/ha de cormelos mercadeables, se obtuvo con la no prebrotaciôn del material de propagation y tratado con fungicida. No se encontrô interaction significativa entre factores para peso promedio de cormelos mercadeables, nûmero de cormelos no mercadeables y nûmero de cormelos brotados por planta.
