EVALUACION DEL ENRAIZAMIENTO DE ESQUEJES DE PIMIENTA (Piper nigrum L.) EN DIFERENTES SUSTRATOS

Abstract

Con el proposito de obtener nuevos materiales para la production de plantulas de pimienta (Piper nigrum L.) se evaluo en el Centro Nordeste de Desarrollo Tecnologico Agropecuario (CENDETECA), Mata Larga, Republica Dominicana, el enraizamiento de esquejes de una hoja y un nudo, en cuatro sustratos : 1) cascara de arroz (Oryza sativa) carbonizada ; 2) arena de rio ; 3) fibra de coco (Cocos nucifera); 4) trozos de arbol de amapola (Erythrinapoeppigiand). Se utilizo un diseno completamente al azar. Se observaron diferencias significativas entre los tratamientos. No se observo presencia de enfermedades, aun cuando los sustratos no fueron esterilizados previamente. Sin embargo, los valores de 85 y 100 % de esquejes enraizados fueron considerados satisfactorios. Se observo un maximo de 4.0 raices por esqueje en trozos de amapola y un minimo de 3.0 en arena de rio.
